So Young Chang
So Young Chang works as Data and Knowledge Officer at IOM’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre in Berlin. Her primary responsibility is supporting the management of the Migration Network Hub as part of the capacity-building mechanism of the Global Compact for Migration. So Young recently defended her PhD in Sociology from Bielefeld University on the topic of policies regarding migrant care work. She also holds a Master’s of Development Studies from the Graduate Institute in Geneva and a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Relations from the University of British Columbia. She has lived, studied, and worked in Korea, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Taiwan, Singapore, Switzerland, and Germany. Most recently, she was a Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA), where she is currently an Associate.
