Data is key to inform migration governance, improve programming and promote a better public understanding of migration.  As part of its mandate, GMDAC focuses on the following areas of work:

  • Knowledge Management
    Improving access and understanding of international migration data through online tools, publications, workshops and global conferences
     
  • Capacity Building
    Providing guidance and training on data concepts, collection, analysis, and governance to practition­ers worldwide
     
  • Data Collection and Analysis
    Improving the evidence base for migration govern­ance and programming through data analysis and development of new indicators
