Ronald Skeldon is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Sussex. (BSc Hons Glasgow) and (MA; PhD Toronto). After doctoral research on Peru, he joined the New Guinea Research Unit of the Australian National University before working throughout the Asia and Pacific region for the United Nations. He was on the faculty of the University of Hong Kong for 14 years before returning to Bangkok as an independent consultant working primarily for international organizations. He joined the University of Sussex in 2000 and was later seconded to the Development (DFID). He was a Professor at Maastricht University 2013-18. He has published widely on issues of migration and development. He continues as consultant to international organizations.
