September School on Media and Migration

Stylia Kampani (Communication Officer, IOM’s GMDAC) attended the September School on Media and Migration which was organized by the Erich Brost Institute for International Journalism (Technical University of Dortmund, Germany), the Africa Institute for Media Migration and Development (AIMMAD) and the African Migration Initiative. The entire workshop took place at the Goethe Institute in Rabat, Morocco, between 9–14 September 2019.

The event was attended by 30 journalists and media trainers from Europe and Africa who had extensive experience in covering migration and refugee issues in their home countries and regions. They represented a wide range of media outlets, from radio channels, journalism television, NGOs, and print.

Ms. Kampani presented on migration data sources needed for reporting on global processes as well as how the Migration Data Portal can be a useful tool for media.
