Niklas Sievers

Niklas Sievers works as Junior Professional Officer (JPO) at the intersection of international migration and digitalization. Before joining IOM’s GMDAC, he has worked in these fields with organizations such as PwC, the EU Commission, GIZ, and ministries and authorities on the federal and communal level. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in International Migration and Public Policy (top of class), and two B.A. degrees – Political Science and Cultural Studies – from Leuphana University Lueneburg, funded by several scholarships including from the German National Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). He lived in countries such as Ecuador, South Africa, Hong Kong (SAR), the UK, and Luxembourg, and furthermore, he pursues a PhD degree at Humboldt University of Berlin with guest research affiliations at EUI, Sciences Po Paris and WZB, investigating global citizenship technologies and human rights in asylum procedures.
