Marta Sanchez Dionis

Marta is Data Analysis & Coordination Officer at GMDAC’s Mobility Data Lab. The Lab was created in 2023 with the goal of delivering high-quality, timely and data-driven analysis on emerging issues related to human mobility. Marta previously worked as Project Officer at IOM’s Missing Migrants Project, carrying out research, advocacy and policy engagement work on issues related to deaths and disappearances during migration and their impact on families and communities left behind.
Before joining IOM in 2017, Marta worked as a human rights researcher in various organizations, including the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights. Marta’s areas of expertise include migrant rights, migration data, gender and access to justice.
Marta holds an LLM in Law and an MA in Political Science and Public Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, as well as an MA in International Relations from the Barcelona School of International Studies. She conducted part of her studies at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and qualified as a lawyer in 2014.
