Lucia Gonzalez is a Consultant at IOM’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre, based in Berlin. Her work focuses on analyzing migration data, specializing in capacity building strategies focused on providing tools and guidelines to IOM Member States. She is currently working on the elaboration of a National Migration Profile for Ghana. Lucia was raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, and moved to Canada where she finished her MA in European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs; her thesis focused on Jewish children hiding in France during World War II, especially discussing the creation of individual vs. collective narratives. As a migrant herself, she continues to pursue her interests for migration and migrants’ well-being through the implementation of strategies for the improvement of collection, analysis and dissemination of migration data.
