Global Conference on Children on the Move

Frank Laczko, IOM GMDAC Director, highlighted the importance of data during a solution-oriented session at the Global Conference on Children on the Move in Berlin from .

The conference marked the first time that diverse stakeholders from states, UN agencies, civil society organizations, private sector, and academia came together to discuss and advocate for the rights of children on the move. The conference was attended by more than 250 participants with ultimate goal to ensure that both Global Compacts – on migrants and on refugees - take into account children’s priorities and concerns.

Laczko presented on IOM´s data collection for child migrant deaths based on data drawn from the Missing Migrants Project.
