Big Data for Migration Alliance at the 8th Euroscience Open Forum

Marzia Rango (Research and Data Officer, IOM’s GMDAC) participated in a panel discussion on data innovation and migration at the 8th Euroscience Open Forum in Toulouse between 9 – 14 July 2018.
 
Ms Rango presented on the opportunities and challenges of big data for migration analysis and policymaking and on planned activities for the Big Data for Migration Alliance – a recent joint initiative by the European Commission’s Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography (KCMD) and IOM’s GMDAC aimed at facilitating partnerships and investments to exploit new data sources on migration.
 
EuroScience Open Forum is the largest interdisciplinary science meeting in Europe. It is dedicated to scientific research and innovation and offers a framework for interaction and debate for scientists, innovators, policy makers, business representatives and the general public.
